Work Anniversary Gift · A Small Monthly Ritual

We turned work anniversary gifts into something that doesn’t rely on luck.

“Thank you for being here.”

In international trade, we make sure every carton knows exactly where it is going. Which country, which port, whose hands it will reach — we clearly mark each one with the right shipping marks and bill of lading.

We should treat people the same way.

Every month, we prepare a gift for colleagues who are marking a work anniversary that month. Year one, year three, year five… every milestone deserves to be noticed. No big ceremony, no long speeches. Just a small gift, a handwritten card, and a simple face-to-face sentence:

“Thank you for being here.”

When things get busy, it is easy to forget. But the busier we are, the more we need to pause and look at the people around us. We believe that when people feel recognized, they show up differently. Being appreciated, being respected, being treated as a specific person — that is what makes work meaningful.

We do this not to check a box, but because it feels right.

Being recognized and respected matters. We don’t want it to be a cold process. We want everyone to know: your effort is seen.

Anniversary gifts: choose what you truly want

We have a simple rule: for anniversary gifts, you choose what you want.

Every month, admin sends out a list. Everyone picks one thing they truly want within their budget. A pair of headphones, a pair of jeans, an ergonomic chair, a small kitchen appliance you have been eyeing for ages but never got around to buying… anything goes. Submit it, the company buys it, and it is delivered to you.

Giving the choice back to them, so the gift truly lands.

Some people ask: then where is the surprise?

Our answer: there are two kinds of surprise.

One is the surprise of confusion when someone opens a gift. The other is the surprise of delight — the kind that makes someone light up. The first depends on luck. The second depends on sincerity. And the highest form of sincerity is giving the choice back to them.

We don’t want the work anniversary gift to become a “blind box” — where opening it is a gamble between surprise and disappointment. If we can precisely deliver goods to customers on the other side of the world, there is no reason we cannot deliver something a team member truly wants into their hands.

A container crossing the ocean relies on accurate shipping marks and a bill of lading. Whether someone feels truly treated well at work often comes down to small things: being heard, being respected, being treated as a specific person.

In global business, what matters is credibility and the long term. The same goes for how we treat our people.

Every month, someone has an anniversary. Every month, someone opens the gift they chose themselves and smiles a genuine smile. That feeling is more grounded than a surprise forced into existence.

We believe that someone who is treated with care will also treat every shipment, every customer, and every promise with care.
